Dr. Francisco Cigarroa, a transplant surgeon and the president of the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, is the new chancellor of the UT System.

UT's regents made that official Friday, after making him the sole finalist for the top job last month. The 51-year-old will become the 10th chancellor of the UT System next month.
